Let’s play… NAME THAT COUNTRY!

Here are 3 clues:

1. Name the country that has a government agency that has the authority to shut down or take over a major corporation, operating in that country, because it has determined that it is not operating properly?

2. Name the country that has laws stating that the same government agency does not have to answer to anyone as to why they are doing what they are doing? Nobody in the public or press can legally demand an explanation as to why they are shutting down or taking control of a privately owned corporation in the country.

3. Name the country that has a government agency that, when they so choose, can take tax dollars and give it to a company that they determine should not go out of business?

BONUS QUESTION: Name the form of government this country practices.

Drill Baby Drill??

Since this latest oil spill happened I have been thinking back to when I was a young environmental activist. Ok, maybe not an "activist", but considering the fact that I only made $60 - $70 a week and still found a way to give money to the Greenpeaces and World Wildlife Funds that were out there, I was pretty into it. Today most of these groups are entrenched in political ideology and act only in the interest of making money or gaining political power. The environmental groups used to be, or at least I thought, solely for the environment. Not so true anymore, and here is why.

I did a little bit of research and found some very interesting facts, here is what I found.

I learned that out of all the oil we extract from our planet only 0.001% of it ends up in the ocean. (that's one thousandth of a percent) Only 1% of the one thousandth of a percent is spilled into the ocean during the extracting process i.e. drilling. 60% of the one thousandth of a percent is spilled into the ocean from oil tankers used to import oil. When these tankers spill oil into the ocean it is usually far more harmful because these accidents mostly happen close to shore. So if we were to drill for our own oil instead of importing it the amount of oil spilled into the ocean would be greatly reduced.

So... If someone were to be strictly concerned for the wildlife and the environment of our planet how could they possibly be anti-drilling? How could they not be against importing oil and instead be for drilling? Not to mention all the other disadvantages involved in being dependent on middle eastern nations for a portion of our energy needs.

So I need to ask all my anti-Palin friends, the next time you hear Sarah Palin chanting "Drill Baby Drill" will you put your political ideology aside and support that idea for the sake of our environment?

PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR

PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR

I belong to a group on Facebook called RAP Republicans Against Palin. Needless to say, I didn't join because I do not support Palin, in fact I do support her. During the discussions on the page I responded to the moderator, Ryan, as to why I support Palin. I received such a positive response to my "PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR" post, I thought I needed to post it here. Remember I'm not a writer, I make trophies for a living. I hope it's not to difficult to follow my train of thought.

PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR
Ryan, I need to make a larger point here that, to me, applies to all decisions I make regarding political candidates. A point that directly applies to my support for Palin. It’s called a PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR. After the Clinton administration something clicked in my head. I looked back at the time before he was president and remembered hearing about the handful of rape and sexual harassment accusations and said to myself “no wonder this Monica Lewinski stuff happened”. It happened because of a PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR. I also remembered hearing about how everything he did, all the way back to his college days, he was doing with the intention of some day being president. So when it became obvious that every decision he was making while president was based on getting re-elected and/or building his legacy, I knew why. It happened because of a PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR. When I watch Obama now trying to force through all this radical far left, Marxist, Communist and Socialist crap, I know why. I predicted this from the beginning of his campaign. How? I learned to look for a PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR. Just look at all the self proclaimed Leftist, Marxist, Communist and Socialist people that he, admittedly, has chosen to surround himself with, at least, since college.
I now look at Palin and I look for her PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR. What I see is that she has cut wasteful spending and weeded out corruption in every position she has held, from PTA member all the way to governor. She has done so even when it was against her own party, which could potentially be political suicide. So when I look at Palin’s PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR, I like what I see. I see someone who will do what she thinks is best for the people she represents no matter what. I see someone who will make decisions not based on what is best for herself politically. I base all of these opinions on her PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR. I don’t think anybody could argue the fact that if she showed any bad patterns of behavior, the media would have found it and exposed it by now. So Ryan, as far as your theory about how “Her time as governor is what matters most,…”, I could not disagree more. This also works beyond politics. Look at yourself or other people you know and apply this standard. I can tell you as a fact that I have never cheated on my wife and I never will. Growing up I never cheated on a girlfriend. I have friends who did cheat on girlfriends all the time. What do you think many of them are doing or have done in their marriages now? I bet you can find many examples like this in your life. The best way to determine what kind of person someone is, in my opinion, is to look at their PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR.

People he surrounds himself with:
1. William Ayers: Obama launched his political career in his living room. Ayers quote: NYT 9/11/01 “I don’t regret setting bombs… I feel we didn’t do enough.” He was referring to bombing the Pentagon. He will not say, when pressed to, that he regrets bombing the Pentagon.

2. Andy Stern, most frequent White House visitor. Quote: “Workers of the world unite. It’s not just a slogan anymore.” That “slogan” just happens to be one of the most famous rallying cries of communism, found in The Communist Manifesto (1848), by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels.

3. Ron Bloom, Car Czar. Stated he agreed with Chairman Mao Tse Tung, you remember the man responsible for the murder of about 70 MILLION people, when he said “political power largely comes from the barrel of a gun.”

4. Anita Dunn the White House communications director. “The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America.’ No, no, no, God damn America, that’s in the Bible for killing innocent people. 6. Van Jones "Green Jobs" Czar. 9/11 Truther. A man who signed a petition saying that our government is so evil it was responsible for blowing up 3000 of it’s own citizens. Quotes: "I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th, By August, I was a communist." "I met all these young radical people of color -- I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, this is what I need to be a part of.'
Jones called Congressional Republicans "assholes"

Do any of these people represent your views? Do you associate with anybody who thinks the way these people do? Would you be comfortable having friends like this? Our President would answer YES to all 3 of those questions.

Mr. President you asked me: “Judge me by the people with whom I surround myself.”. Mr. President, consider yourself judged.

A few "Global Warming" questions.

GLOBAL WARMING QUESTIONS

Just a few questions that I would love someone, anyone, to answer. If you have answers to any of these please, please, enlighten me.

1. Why have 3 of our closest planetary neighbors experienced the same proportional temperature changes we have? Are there SUVs and cow farts on Mars?
2. Why have measurements made by the most accurate devices known to man today, such as satellites and probes that are placed throughout our oceans that periodically submerge themselves deep in the ocean to measure the oceans temperature, all tell us that the planet has not warmed in more than 10 years?
3. Why back in the 1930s were we being warned about global cooling, then in the 1950s it was global warming, then in the 1970s it was global cooling, and now warming again? If you go back to the 50s and 70s and read publications like Newsweek you would see they use the same key phrases to convince people, like "scientific consensus".
4. Why every time they find a "glitch" in software or other data gathering systems or devises it's always in favor of warming? For example: When just last year the satellite software used to measure sea ice in the arctic was discovered to have a "glitch". When the "glitch" was corrected it showed 500,000 more square miles of ice. (I think that’s about the size of Texas) bringing the ice levels to that of around 1970. When the model used to produce the infamous "hockey stick" graph was released to the public it was found to make the "hockey stick" pattern no matter what data was entered. When corrected the "hockey stick" magically disappeared.
5. Why, is a majority of the public convinced that the the planets temperature is directly affected by the amount of carbon in our atmosphere when in fact the data shows, contrary to Al Gore's mocumentary, that the carbon levels rose AFTER the planets temperature, by about a few hundred years?
6. Why in the distant past, before man even existed, was the Earth so warm it had no ice at all at either poles? Maybe "dinosaur-made global warming"?
7. Why as recently as 10,000 years ago was there a quarter mile thick sheet of ice year round right were I sit?

I do not see any of these questions as being unreasonable, and in fact see them as relevant.

The only way anyone could still believe all the "man-made global warming" hype they must hand pick the data they choose to "believe". After this recent email scandal which exposed massive fraud committed by scientists whose data was used in virtually every major global warming study, there is no way any scientifically thinking person could not at least question everything they have been led to believe.

Many, many more scientists are changing over to the ANTI man-made global warming, oops I mean ANTI climate change side. They are not going the other way. I predict that in about five more years the general public will realize how this "man-made global warming" crap has been completely debunked, despite the reporting by the media and the many political groups, and this will be a huge I TOLD YOU SO!

This is THE biggest scientific scam in the history of science! Why is the media not reporting it as such?

OBAMACARE WILL KILL MILLIONS! Crazy?

Ok, here goes, this one is going to be a little long and I’m not the best writer so please try to follow me here. I think there is a larger point that we conservatives need to get across here. It is what the liberals running this country just don’t seem to get. It involves two main issues. 1. Hatred for major corporations and the rich. 2. Profit motive, aka Capitalism.
First the hatred for major corporations and the rich. If you look at just how many corporations there are in this country and compare that to how many corporate scandals there are you will see that there are really very few dishonest and/or corrupt big businesses. It is a fact that the large and successful businesses are the ones that put out a good product, treat there employees well and are honest and fair. If you had some extra money to invest are you going to look at, say, AIG? I think most people would say no. That is an example of the free market taking care of itself. Just the fact that the media reported the goings on at AIG it has hurt their reputation and bottom line. The ONLY thing we need the government and media to do is let us know when there is a business who is dishonest and/or unfair, and we the people and the free market will take care of it. Every time the government comes in and tries to “fix” things it does nothing but get worse.
This hatred toward the rich is really insane! The best way I can explain this is a few weeks ago I was listening to Air America (painful) and they had a caller bitching about how unfair it is that the rich can afford medical procedures that other people could not. The caller and the hosts went on and on about how unfair it is. I was screaming at the radio “IT WAS THE RICH WHO AT ONE TIME WERE THE ONLY ONES WHO COULD AFFORD MRIs. BECAUSE THEY PAID BIG BUCKS TO GET THEM DONE IS PRECISELY WHY ANYONE CAN GET ONE DONE NOW!” The same thing can be said about chemotherapy and many other, now common, medical procedures. “IT WAS THE RICH WHO PAID UPWARDS OF $15K FOR A FLAT SCREEN TV AND THAT’S WHY WE CAN NOW BUY A NICE ONE FOR AROUND $1K!” There is a stage in the development of any new invention or innovation that I call "The Rich Guy Stage". If it were not for the rich, most great technologies would never make it past the mind of its creator. THANK YOU CAPITALISM!
That brings us to profit motive. We live in THE most prosperous country in the world. We reached that position in just over 200 years! Look at all the other countries in the world who have been around for thousands of years and have never reached the standard of living we have here. Our poor have it a thousand times better than most other countries middle class. Why? FREEDOM! A big part of our freedom is Capitalism. It is the drive for profit (or greed if that’s what you need to call it) that has made this country what it is today. The settlers learned this very soon after landing here. When they first started they had a socialist way of living. If you made blankets, you made them for everybody, and everybody had blankets. Why invent a better way to make blankets? Your going to make one for everybody anyway so what incentive do you have to make them better or faster? The leaders realized that the community was not progressing. What they came up with was a new way of doing things. If you made blankets and sold them for a profit you could keep that profit and in turn you could afford to give your family more. So when you gave your family more, more things needed to be made. When more things needed to be made workers were needed to make more things. Then in turn those workers could give there families more things... And so on. It is this drive for profit that gives people the incentive to create things or find ways to do things better. THIS IS THE MAIN POINT THAT WE CONSERVATIVES NEED TO MAKE WHEN IT COMES TO HEALTH CARE. If it is run by the government who does not need to make a profit and will control how much profit can be made ALL INCENTIVE WILL BE DESTROYED TO INVENT NEW TECHNOLOGIES OR MAKE ANYTHING BETTER OR MORE EFFICIENT. Look at lasic eye care. It is not covered by any insurance and not covered by anything our government offers. They must convince people to spend their hard earned money to get it done. Look at how much safer and cheaper it has become in just a few short years! If the government told them how much they would be allowed to charge all that innovation never would have happened. I say, as crazy as it may sound, that if the government ends up running our health care system millions will die. They will die because of all the cures and technologies that will never be developed because the profit motive has been removed from the health care system. Without "The Rich Guy Stage" in the innovation process where the “evil rich” pay for new technologies, they will never be developed. You can bet your ass the government won’t pay big bucks like the rich do to move that process along. If this health care stuff passes it will begin to destroy the very thing that made this country what it is today!
So, fellow Conservatives, when you find someone who supports government run health care and seems willing to listen to reason, explain to them why you and I can purchase a flat screen TV for less than $1K. And explain how it was the rich who paid upwards of $15K that now allow us to do so. Most liberals will catch on to that concept rather quickly. Once they do ask them then who will pay those high prices for the new medical technologies or innovations that have yet to be invented?
